The Financial Supervision Act (Wet op het financieel toezicht (Wft)) creates the rules concerning the regulation of financial companies including insurers, banks, and investment firms. The Wft establishes compliance conditions for financial companies and creates regulatory powers for the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). This includes the regulation of pension funds. Resolución’s expertise with the Wft can help you to deal with these regulators.

A few examples of public bodies applying economic administrative law are:

  • The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) entrusted with consumer protection, competition, and regulation of the energy, telecommunication, postal services and transport markets.
  • The Inspectorate SZW (Inspectie SZW: I-SZW) supervises compliance with the Foreign Nationals Employment Act, the Minimum Wage and Minimum Holiday Allowance Act, the Working Conditions Act and the Working Hours Act.
  • The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit: nVWA) entrusted with animal and plant health and food and product safety.
